Before I was ever much of a reader, I was that kid who lost herself in the woods every weekend. I went swimming in Spruce Creek (sometimes accidentally), did freediving in springs, kayaked and surfed in the waves off New Smyrna Beach.
As I got older, I realized the beauty of the natural world around me wasn't unending, not without care and stewardship from people like me. So I decided to learn as much as I could about Florida's ecosystems and the danger they face from the looming threat of climate change and pollution. I write about the environment so I can educate others. Together, we can make a difference.
